AI Fluency Goes Beyond Writing a Good Prompt
The 4D framework connects AI use to task selection, description, judgment of output, and responsibility for its use.

Writing a good prompt is only one part of AI fluency. The 4D framework describes four responsibilities for working with models and agents more deliberately.
Delegation asks whether the task is suitable for AI in the first place. Description provides context, goals, expected output, and constraints. Discernment means reviewing, comparing, and verifying the output because a polished answer may still be wrong. Diligence covers responsibility for safe and ethical use, including the protection of sensitive data.
The real value does not come from handing all thinking to the tool. It comes from knowing what to delegate, how to explain it, how to judge the result, and who remains accountable for the final decision.
